My opponent will likely say that people would be better off they didn’t see Bridge of spies because it does not teach us about the cold war. However, research has shown that the Berlin wall, superpower spies, and Russia all have something to do with the Cold War. My first piece of evidence states that the Berlin Wall tells me about how the government was during the Cold War. It shows that the Soviet’s government didn’t like the U.S. at all. The wall is proof, they built it just to stop their people in the East from going over to the West,which was ran by the United States.People even lost their lives trying to get across. My second piece of evidence declares that Superpower spies is an example of the hunger for power during the cold war. The fact that both superpowers sent over spies to the other country shows that the need gain information about the other was extreme. Also, the third piece of evidence asserts that Russia itself, shows how badly the superpowers didn’t like each other. Russia had a communist government and wanted to be able to spread communism and rule over people, America stood in the way. Not only does my evidence disprove my opposition’s claim, it strengthens my argument that the movie definitely showed aspects of the cold war by stating how the Berlin Wall taught us about Soviet government, superpower spies taught about power and Russia taught about the places that communism was. While many may believe that the movie was worthless the research speaks for itself; you should see the movie yourself because you will learn about the Cold War.
My opponent will likely say people in America are not treated the same if white people don’t get punished for destroying property because they are not black. However, research has shown that President Obama defines power. Minimum wage defines economics in equality. Tolerance defines religion. My first piece of evidence states that,” Obama defines the word power when he became the first black President of the United States.” Some people didn’t like him because he was black. In addition, the second piece of evidence declares that,” because of economics anyone can have food stamps.” Minimum wage deals a lot with economics, like how people get paid. Also, the third piece of evidence asserts that,” religion in America is when any race is allowed to go to any church or any school. When Muslim, Chinese, Blacks, and Whites are allowed in the same school. Not only does my evidence disprove or prove my opposition’s claim, it strengthens the argument that America is not a racist country, really not the MOST racist country, by stating that by having power it is a special thing in a person life to something that you own. Some may use the recent college championship game as an example of racism because certain people or the people did not get punished for their actions. However, this is wrong for one/two reasons. (Reason 1) 15,000 people wasn’t damaging property. (Reason 2) the 15,000 people where not all white. Besides my evidence speaks for itself: Their story is just their opinion.

My first piece of evidence states that,” the Berlin Wall was built to divide the east and the west.” East and west Germany were divided so they could have to different governments. In addition, the second piece of evidence declares that,” YouTube is used for when people record themselves.” When Powers was shot down in the air trying to take pictures. Also, the third piece of evidence,” Soviet Union and U.S.A sending spies to each others country.” When the Soviet Union sent Abel over to spy and the United States sent Pryor and Powers over to spy. Not only does my evidence disprove or prove my opposition’s claim, it strengthens the argument that because of power they all have the knowledge or ownership to do what they need to or feel to, by stating that evidence’s overall message. While many may believe the movie was unbelievable and it didn’t talk about the Cold War, the research speaks for itself; you
won’t know until you see the movie.
My opponent will likely say people would be better off if they did not see Great Debaters, because it is unrealistic. However, research has shown that discrimination is in the movie. Farmers or sharecroppers came together. The movie also talked about schools. My first piece of evidence states that,”the whites were lynching black people for nothing.” In addition, the second piece of evidence declares that,” the farmers worked together to form a union and get better pay from jobs.” Also, the third piece of evidence asserts that,”the schools were segregated in the movie, whites and blacks not able to go to the same schools because of discrimination. Not only does my evidence disprove my opponents claim, it strengthens the argument that because or culture, they couldn’t accept black people, by stating that black and whites couldn’t be in the same place together. While many may believe my opponent says the movie is boring or is a fiction, the research speaks for itself; Watch the movie for yourself and state your own opinion of it. 
My opponent will likely say that people in World War II would be really messed up if Americans did not enter the fight because Axis powers could beat everyone but Americans. However, the documents have shown that this isn’t true. The Allies were doing just fine without the Americans joining the fight. My first piece of evidence states that the British beat Germany and America was not involved. It shows clear evidence that Britain held their own on those beaches of Dunkirk. They won against German air strikes. In addition, the second piece of evidence declares that in The Battle of Britain, the British won without America again. The British stood strong against Germany, even though more than 40,000 British civilians were killed. Also, the third piece of evidence asserts that Russia also held their weight against Germany without America. In the siege of Leningrad the soviets suffered like no other. Their food was rationed down to only two pieces of bread a day. They even resulted to eating wallpaper. Even though they went through these hardships while fighting this battle with Germany they still came out on top. They didn’t surrender or crumble under Germany. All of this was done without America’s help. Not only does this disprove my opposition’s claim, it strengthens the argument that America dose not have all the power by stating how other Allies held their own and won without America. While many may believe that Americans had all the power the research speaks for itself; while powerful, America didn’t have it all.
Some may say that people don’t know their history if they think appeasement, isolationism, and domestic distractions had anything to do with world war two because those things were not important. However documents have shown that these things had a major impact in starting the second world war. My first piece of evidence states that appeasement around that time caused people to give in to a lot. Western countries gave in to what Germans wanted because they thought if they gave them what they wanted it would keep the peace. They were wrong. While they tried to sweep what the Germans were doing under the rug and letting them do what they want, Germans invaded other countries. This violated the treaty of Versailles, yet they still did nothing. After all the ignoring what Germany was doing it eventually lead to the war. In addition, the second piece of evidence declares that isolationism tied into the war because it created anger from other countries. For example America avoids the war by refusing to help. This would cause resentment from countries that needed America’s help and possibly led to wanting revenge on Americans. Also, the third piece of evidence asserts that domestic distractions pushed countries to focus on what’s happening within their country and end up being invaded. For example in Britain they did not have the energy or time to focus on Germany, Italy, and Japan because of the Great Depression. Not only does my evidence disprove my opposition’s claim, it strengthens my argument that appeasement, isolationism, and domestic distractions impacted WWII in a major way by stating that these things were clearly important. While many may believe that appeasement, isolationism, and distractions have nothing to do with the second world war the documents speak for itself you shouldn’t ignore things. They could eventually impact your life, later becoming a greater problem.
My opponent will likely say that Hitler was a genius because he built Germany back up out of nothing with no help. However, the documents have shown that Hitler oppressed people, was a mass murderer and was aggressive. My first piece of evidence states that Hitler oppressed people, He blamed the Jewish people out of all the Germans because blaming someone added to his power gain. It added to his power because none of the Germans wanted to take the blame for losing the war. Hitler took advantage of this and picked the outsiders of Germany to let the blame fall on. The second piece of evidence proves that Hitler was a mass murderer not only did he blame the Jews for all of Germany’s problems but he chose to kill them too. He had the idea that all German families should have blonde hair and blue eyes. This actually shows how insane he was because Hitler didn’t even have blonde hair and blue eyes himself. The third piece states that he was really aggressive. Anyone that did something he didn’t like they were punished, most likely killed. Not only does my evidence disprove my opposition’s claim, it strengthens my argument that Hitler was a genius by stating that Hitler only gained power by oppressing people and having them fear him. While many may believe that Hitler was a genius the evidence speaks for itself, Hitler only gained power by oppressing his own people, and no one should allow anyone to gain enough control over their lives to ruin it. Germans could have prevented Hitler’s coming to power by accepting that they lost the war and gaining control over their own lives.
